Hidden behind familiar policies such as healthcare and food safety, Sanseito may be making claims that go beyond the bounds of a political party.

With this in mind, Tansa examined statements made by the party’s founding member and representative, Sohei Kamiya, over the past 19 years, including parliamentary questions, books, blogs, YouTube, and media interviews.

The records include xenophobic racism, gender discrimination, historical revisionism, conspiracy theories, and information that is not based on facts.

Would you still choose Sanseito?

Why Tansa opposes Sanseito. Here is our declaration.

Tansa, as a Media Organization, Declares That We Are Against the Sanseito to Protect Basic Human Rights and Democracy

Japanese and History

⚫︎The Japanese people are the “Great Treasures” of the Emperor, his precious children. The parent (the Emperor) watches over their children (the Japanese people), and the children work hard to repay their parent. This is the Japanese governance of “oneness of monarch and people” that the Japanese people have always cherished. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎From the perspective that we should value the Japanese bloodline that is passed down from ancestors to descendants, Japan’s world-renowned family registry system must be maintained. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎After fighting hard for about 80 years since the Meiji Restoration, Japan was trapped and plunged into “the Greater East Asia War.” Japan was trapped and suffered devastating damage. For the West, bringing Japan under their control was a long held desire since the time of Columbus and Xavier. (“’Sanseito’ that Awakens the Nation,” 2022, Seirindo Visual)

⚫︎The Japanese military, which was internationally viewed as humane, came to be seen as a cruel group that repeatedly committed massacres around the world, and the Japanese were imprinted with the notion that  “the Greater East Asia War”, which broke the Western countries’ ruling system over Asian countries, was a reckless act of aggression. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎The term “ex-conscripted workers” is based on South Korean propaganda that has made no distinction between “recruitment” and “conscription” and has instead said that the Koreans were “mobilized for forced labor.” (Inquiry letter regarding issues surrounding wartime workers from the Korean Peninsula. February 14, 2023)

⚫︎The people of Okinawa fought against the US military, and it was not the Japanese military, the Japanese people, who killed the people of Okinawa (NHK Okinawa NEWS WEB, “Sanseito Representative Kamiya: ‘The Japanese military did not kill the people of Okinawa'” May 13, 2025)

⚫︎The Japanese are a highly mixed race that was born from the mixture of people living in what is now China, eastern Russia, Southeast Asia, and the Polynesian Islands in the South Pacific. Therefore, when Japanese people interact with other ethnic groups, they do not attack them but try to make them assimilate with the Japanese. When Japan annexed Taiwan and the Korean Peninsula in the past, it did not discriminate against the local people and instead educated them in Japanese in order to make them the same Japanese people. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎I received a photo from an acquaintance of mine of Prime Minister Abe kneeling on the runway of Iwo Jima*, conveying his gratitude to the ground, so I uploaded it to Facebook. Then, it got 200 likes in no time, and my friends also praised Abe highly, saying that Abe is different after all, and I was very happy about that. I believe that if you don’t have that kind of feeling, you shouldn’t be a politician. In other words, I want to do politics that is grateful to those who have risked their lives to fight and work for our country, recognizes that it is because of them that we are here now, and is able to clearly recognize what we should do now. (YouTube “Part 6, Part 1: The Dilemma of Young Local Councilors? Civil Servants are a Group of Experts [CGS Ryoma CH]” July 3, 2013)

*The Japanese army was nearly wiped out due to a lack of supplies for its soldiers.

⚫︎While the government is avoiding answering questions, the so-called “history war” campaign targeting Japan continues in the international community. (Inquiry letter regarding Japan’s policy on historical recognition. January 26, 2024)

⚫︎While Prime Minister Ishiba has decided to postpone the issuance of a statement on the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, he has indicated his intention to set up a panel of experts in April 2025 to “examine why Japan rushed into a reckless war and caused enormous damage,” and to publish the results in August of the same year. Such a policy could create new conflicts in historical perception both at home and abroad. What is needed now is for the people to share the spirit of the 70th anniversary statement and to respond appropriately and proactively to the ongoing “information war” and “history war” by some neighboring countries. In particular, in this year, the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, external communication regarding historical perception has already become more active, and there are signs of an information war. For example, there are ongoing movements that concern our country’s historical position, such as China’s production of a film based on the “Unit 731” and South Korea’s continued installation of comfort women statues overseas. (Inquiry letter regarding the government’s response to the 80th anniversary of the end of the war and the state of the Council of Experts. April 16, 2025)

National Defense and Nuclear Weapons

⚫︎We consider national defense in five steps: determination, diplomacy, balance of power,  firm attitude, and nuclear. Among these, “balance of power” is considered in relation to China, and we will double our air and naval power, which are currently significantly behind China in terms of quantity. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎China and Korea will continue to damage Japan’s credibility. No matter how much we compromise, nothing will change (>_<) There is little point in telling the truth. We have no choice but to understand China’s intentions and do our own propaganda. This is an information war, so if the other side attacks us, we have to fight even if we don’t want to, or we will lose. (Sohei Kamiya official website, “How should we deal with China’s information war?” April 28, 2014)

⚫︎The greatest defense for maintaining peace is for the people to understand international affairs and national interests, and to have the will to fight to protect their country when necessary. If this awareness is cultivated among 100 million people, anti-espionage laws like those in other countries are created, traitorous journalists are weeded out, and traitorous politicians are defeated in elections, Japan’s national defense will be much stronger than if we were to buy ridiculously expensive American weapons. (Sohei Kamiya official website, “After completing five days of self-defense forces reserve training.” December 11, 2016)

⚫︎Now that Japan has joined the sanctions against Russia, we will be forced to fight on two fronts against China and Russia. This means that defense spending will have to be increased by at least 3 to 10 times. (“Monthly WiLL” August 2022 issue, WAC)

⚫︎If the people lack the will to fight, even if Japan were to become nuclear-armed, the Prime Minister who would hold the launch switch would be too concerned with public opinion to press the switch. No matter how many nuclear weapons Japan possesses, they will not be a deterrent. (“Monthly WiLL” August 2022 issue, WAC)

⚫︎As a country that aims to fundamentally strengthen its defense capabilities while balancing the ideal of a nuclear-free world with the reality that nuclear deterrence is effective, I believe that considering nuclear sharing would increase national defense capabilities at minimal cost over time and also have the effect of reducing future increases in defense spending. What is the Minister of Finance’s perspective on this? (House of Councillors Committee on Finance and Banking. May 25, 2023)

Foreigners and Gender

⚫︎Sanseito aims to build a thriving society that can be run by Japanese people alone by increasing productivity through the use of AI and robots so that we do not have to rely on foreign workers. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎Immigrants that Japan accepts should be limited to those who love Japan, respect the imperial line, inherit Japanese culture, and are willing to support the country as Japanese people, and they should be required to take exams. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎It can be said that Japan’s naturalization requirements should include explicit criteria for loyalty and knowledge of history and culture, and have specific standards for Japanese language proficiency. (Inquiry letter regarding the review of naturalization requirements. June 20, 2024)

⚫︎We also need to stop the trend of later marriage. To do this, we must stop excessive education about LGBTQ that diminishes interest in the opposite sex among adolescents. (“Sanseito Drill” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎Discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity have developed from a range of academic disciplines, including philosophy, sociology, feminist theory, and even critical theory, but some point out that the ideas are influenced by Marxism and critical race theory. (Inquiry letter regarding concerns over the social impact of the radical promotion of Act on the Promotion of Public Understanding of the Diversity of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, etc. January 24, 2025)

⚫︎In the morning, I asked Prime Minister Kishida whether the “LGBT bill” would destroy Japan’s national character. There are voices from the public that this bill is also being created under pressure from the United States. (House of Councillors Committee on Finance and Banking, Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense. June 8, 2023)

⚫︎Children are taught in schools that values such as “gender-free,” “LGBTQ,” “green transformation,” “SDGs,” and “diversity” are the global standard, but there is almost no solid scientific evidence behind these values. In the first place, gender-free and LGBTQ are part of the ideological warfare exploited by communists to destroy hostile countries from within. (“Sanseito Drill,” 2024, Seirindo)

⚫︎There is a book called “The Naked Communist” written by former FBI agent Cleon Skousen in 1958. It describes 45 goals that the American Communist Party had set at that time to win the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union. I don’t have time to introduce them all, so I will introduce a few as examples. Number 15: Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. Number 17: Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.  Number 20: Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. Number 21: Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. Number 25: Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. Number 26: Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.” Number 40: Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. These are the goals written in the book.

⚫︎These are the methods of fighting that communists have established, with culture as their primary battlefield, after the proletarian revolution through class struggle in industrialized countries ended in failure. I understand that they were established to change the consciousness of the middle class in places like the media and universities, deny tradition, culture, and community, and especially radicalize the opinions of the minority, in order to create a new cultural soil and atmosphere that would make it easier to succeed in a totalitarian revolution in which the majority cannot argue.

⚫︎In the United States, these efforts have been ongoing for a long time, and in recent years, an organization called Black Lives Matter (BLM) has been active. BLM is an organization that has carried out many destructive activities across the United States, and there is data that indicates that insurance companies paid out $1 billion for riots, looting, and destruction caused by BLM in just the last couple weeks of May 2020.

⚫︎The founders of this violent group, BLM, are three black women, two of whom have clearly stated that they are sophisticated Marxists, ah, sorry, trained Marxists. In an article dated June 21, 2020, ABC News in the United States also reported that the founders of Black Lives Matter have always placed LGBTQ voices at the center of their discussions from the beginning. Because of this fact, there are hundreds of anti-LGBTQ bills being created both in the United States and Europe.

⚫︎In this sense, the 45 goals I just presented have been promoting the cultural destruction of American society over many years, creating organizations that engage in riots and destruction. Unfortunately, many of these goals have actually taken shape in Japan, and now the “LGBT bill” is being passed in an unnatural way. The reason why Sanseito opposes the “LGBT bill” is because all party members have studied these facts and historical context, and are extremely suspicious of the political intentions behind the rhetoric. Furthermore, we do not want to give a new source of funding to Japanese organizations with connections to shady overseas organizations. (House of Councillors Committee on Finance and Banking, June 13, 2023)

Childcare and Education

⚫︎Japanese boys should, even if it’s only for a short period of time, do a training camp where they feel their lives are in danger. (Sohei Kamiya Official Website “We want to fight! Japanese heading to overseas battlefields.” October 19, 2014)

⚫︎People who want to scrap the security bills seem to be constantly talking about conscription. Even if we forcefully conscript today’s young people, how much money and effort would it take just to educate them? Would they be useful in modern warfare? … In my opinion, it would be good to conscript young people even if temporarily, deprive them of their freedom, and assign them to work in a communal setting, such as in agriculture or disaster prevention for a certain period of time. When people have too much freedom, they won’t appreciate the value of freedom, and they won’t be able to grow up in such an overprotected environment. (Sohei Kamiya official website, “’Conscription’ used to manipulate public opinion” September 6, 2015)

⚫︎When we argue that the Imperial Rescript on Education is necessary today, we receive various criticisms, such as that it will lead to militarism, but I feel that these 12 virtues, the 12 virtues written in the Imperial Rescript on Education, contain many social norms that Japanese people today really need to reexamine. (Suita City Council, September 13, 2012)

⚫︎Furthermore, when considering how to improve the educational capabilities at home, I believe it is critical for parents to raise their awareness as fathers and mothers and to cooperate with each other in running a home. Because only women can give birth to children, women must think carefully about how they will give birth to and raise children. Likewise, men who are unable to bear children must think carefully about how they can support the women who will bear their children. From this perspective, it is critical to develop a firm understanding of femininity and masculinity from an early age. (Suita City Council, September 12, 2008)

⚫︎The question here is whether women who leave their children in the care of others to go to work recognize the importance of the mother-child bond, and whether the government understands the motivations of women choose to work even if it means leaving their children in the care of others. (Suita City Council, September 12, 2008)

⚫︎There is a strong tendency to promote English education at all levels of primary, secondary and higher education, reflecting globalization. As a result, the decline in Japanese vocabulary among Japanese university students has become a serious problem (Inquiry letter regarding national language education policy and the inheritance of Japanese as a language culture. May 23, 2024,)

⚫︎A typical example is Kawasaki City’s ordinance on children’s rights, enacted in 2000. This ordinance defines seven children’s rights, including the right to be themselves. Just think about it. If being themselves were recognized as a right for children, education and discipline would no longer be viable. Because of the ordinance, parents and teachers who provide natural guidance will be branded as violating children’s rights, and schools and homes will fall into chaos if we do not specify children’s rights and clearly define what constitutes infringement of those rights. (Suita City Council, September 12, 2008)

Others

⚫︎The human brain is composed of three layers: the reptilian brain, the mammalian brain, and the human brain. From a neuroscience perspective, it is important to develop the reptilian brain and the mammalian brain. The problem with modern education is that it tries to develop only the human brain without doing this. (“’Sanseito’ that Awakens the Nation,”  2022, Seirindo Visual)

⚫︎If you study history and biographies of great people, you can have your own values and philosophy. If you have your own philosophy, you will not become a slave. You will develop a samurai consciousness. When you get down to it, your soul is more important than your life, and many people risk their lives to cultivate the soul. (“’Sanseito’ that Awakens the Nation,”  2022, Seirindo Visual)
